Data deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of personal data associated with your 852 Rooms account and what you can expect from us. It supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. How to request deletion

Send an email from the address registered on your account to support@852rooms.com with the subject line “Data deletion request — 852 Rooms”. In the body, include:

• The email address of the account you want deleted (or a clear description if you no longer have access);
• Whether you want full account deletion or only certain data removed;
• Any relevant listing IDs or conversation context (optional but helps us act faster).

We may ask you to confirm ownership of the account (for example by replying from the registered email or completing a short verification step) before we delete data.

2. What we typically delete

After a verified full account deletion request, we aim to remove or anonymise:

• Your profile and account settings stored in our application database;
• Listings and room-wanted profiles you created, where technically and legally feasible;
• Personal identifiers in in-app messages (we may retain de-identified logs for security or legal reasons).

Authentication data may also be removed or anonymised in our identity provider according to its retention rules once we process your request.

3. What we may retain

We may keep certain information when the law requires or permits, for example:

• Billing and tax records related to completed payments;
• Minimal records needed to detect fraud, enforce our Terms, or defend legal claims;
• Data already made anonymous so it cannot reasonably identify you.

4. Timing

We aim to acknowledge requests within a few business days and complete deletion or anonymisation within approximately thirty (30) days, unless a longer period is required by law or dispute resolution. Complex requests may take longer; we will keep you informed where practicable.

5. Meta / Facebook

If you remove the 852 Rooms app from Facebook and request deletion of data Facebook shared with us, Meta sends an automated notice to our servers. We acknowledge that request and give you a confirmation code on this page when you open the status link Meta provides. That process covers data tied to the Facebook connection; for a full account deletion (including email sign-in), also email us using the instructions in section 1.
